Merapi trekking offers an unforgettable experience for those who have ever dreamt of climbing an active volcano. While Yogyakarta is renowned as the cultural hub of Indonesia, it is often overlooked for its stunning natural beauty and vast landscapes. Mount Merapi, with its impressive size and dense vegetation resulting from the rich, fertile ground created by its lava, is a prime example. Our tour begins with a hotel pick-up service around 10:00 pm, after which we drive to Selo Village located on the northern side of the volcano. Following the necessary preparations, we begin the six-hour trek to the volcano's peak, where we will witness the first rays of sunrise breaking the horizon. After taking in the breathtaking views, we will make our descent, admiring the city of Yogyakarta to the south and the Merbabu volcano to the east. A brief rest at Pasar Bubar offers an opportunity to soak in the surroundings before climbing down to Selo.
In the afternoon, a vehicle will be waiting for us in Selo to transport us back to Yogyakarta, concluding a truly remarkable experience.

You will enjoy the stories and local legends about Merapi's spirit and past eruptions, and why the volcano continues to bel observed and followed by many volcanologists.
We pick you up at your hotel (pick up area service) around 10.00 p.m. Then we drive you to Selo Village, located on the northern side of the volcano. After preparation we will start to climb the volcano and embark on trek of around six hours to the volcanoes peak. Once at the top we enjoy the first rays of sun breaking in the horizon, then after witness the sunrise we will make our decent where we can admire views of the city of Yogyakarta in the South and the Merbabu volcano on the eastern side. Then we will have a small rest and enjoy the view from Pasar Bubar before climbing down to Selo.
A vehicle will be waiting for us in Selo to drive us back to Yogyakarta in the afternoon.
