The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an international organization consisting of 57 member states that have significant Muslim populations. The OIC's headquarters is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and it was established in 1969 with the aim of promoting Islamic solidarity and cooperation among its member countries. Saudi Arabia has been a significant player in the OIC's development, given its status as a major Islamic country with a high level of influence in the region. Saudi Arabia's King Salman serves as the current chair of the organization. The OIC's main areas of focus include political and economic cooperation, human rights, education, science, and culture, among others.
